Farewell and Best Wishes to Meeka Smith

On Friday this week we farewell Miss Smith who has been such an important part of our school at Holy Spirit for the past five years.
Meeka came to us as a graduate teacher and has become an expert in her craft over this time. It is with a sense of sadness and much gratitude that we say goodbye to Meeka and thank her for all the hours she has given and the care she has shown to all the children in her classes.
We have been very privileged to have had Meeka on our staff and her expertise has made a significant difference to the learning of every child in our school.
As a colleague on staff Meeka will be really missed and we take this opportunity to wish her every happiness in the future as she begins the next exciting chapter in her life in New South Wales.
Thank you Meeka, for all you have offered and given to our community.

Volleyball is an amazing sport played by enthusiasts and professionals all around the world and now it has arrived at Holy Spirit.
The Volleyball Tournament was dreamt up by Me(Frankie), Kaya, Olive, Tanya, Harper Cristian and Tony.

The Tournament is for Grade 4-6 and played with near exact rules to professional volleyball games.
It is held on Mondays and Thursdays and started week 2 and will end in week 6. So far it has been a huge success and we hope to integrate volleyball into the lunch and recesses of students at Holy Spirit.

Monday 13th October – Save the Date for Italian Day
In Italian classes, we are busily preparing for Italian Day, which will be held on Monday, 13th October.
We warmly invite families to join us from 9:00am – 9:30am for a special morning of prayer and our Costume Parade. As part of the celebrations, we’re thrilled to welcome back Alessio, a former student who has continued to nurture his passion for music. Alessio will be performing a selection of Italian songs for our school community, and we’re proud to showcase his talents as part of our Italian Day festivities.
Families are also welcome to return to school at approximately 12:45pm to enjoy a pizza and gelato lunch, followed by a fun performance by Spettacular Spettacolo at 2:00pm. The show is titled L’ingrediente segreto (The Secret Ingredient).
Food order forms will be sent home later this term to help the HSPA coordinate lunch orders.
We look forward to celebrating with you and thank you for your continued support!
