Community in Action: Highlights from Our School Fete
What a great celebration of our community we shared on Sunday October 19th at our school fete.
It was so good to see most of our families make the time to come along and join in the fun. It was fantastic to reconnect with so many past students and families who came back to visit and support their old school, it certainly showed the lasting effect that Holy Spirit has had on the families who have passed through over the years.
I am very grateful to all families for their generosity on fete day and for their willingness to get involved in the activities and fun that made the event such a success and a tribute to the community that we have at Holy Spirit.
The significant display of school spirit was only made possible due to the fantastic work of our fete committee over so many months and the generosity of so many parents in setting up and running the stalls on the day.
I thank every member of the organising committee under the watchful eye of Kimberley Tsolakis and Voula Nuske who made the fete such a success.

World Kindness Day Celebration

On Thursday, November 13, we’ll be celebrating World Kindness Day! Families are warmly invited to join us for this special morning of kindness and community.
From 8:30 a.m. – Contribute to our School Kindness Paper Chain by adding your own “link of kindness.” Each link will represent a kind act or message, showing how our whole community is connected through kindness.
At 8:45 a.m. – We’ll gather together to reflect on the power of kindness and gratitude in our daily lives.
Let’s come together to celebrate kindness and make our school shine with even more positivity!
Middles School Students are Mad About Science

On Thursday 16th October, the Middle School were visited by ‘Mad About Science’.
They taught us all about matter. Some of our students were most responsive and already knew a lot about the properties of solids, liquids and gases.
We experimented carefully with dry ice, dishwashing liquid and water to create bubbling fountains. We talked about how solids, liquids and gases change with heat and what happens with the absence of heat. The students were most excited to learn about plasma too!!
It was engaging, fun and very worthwhile!

🏅Special Mention:
Liv the legend!
Livi represented Holy Spirit at the NMR Region Track and Field on the 15th October which was held at Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium. Livi had an excellent race and came 4th in the 1500m . She managed to smash her personal best time by 30 seconds with a new record of 5 minutes 30 seconds! Just to let you know, her previous personal best was already impressive 🙂
Kinder Visits

When the kinder kids came to our school, I read a book called ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’.
They loved the book.
Afterwards, we watched a video clip of the song ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ and did the actions. It was cool, I even liked it. I think I would rate the book 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and hopefully the kinder kids liked it. The places that the kinder kids go to were Thornbury Kindergarten and Thornbury World Of Learning.

We enjoyed making paper chains with the kinder kids and helping them make bear puppets. The kids were lots of fun. All the kids got to take home a Holy Spirit water bottle.

On Tuesday some kinder kids came to Holy Spirit. First we read a book called ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt.’ After that, we did a follow up dance of the Bear Hunt. Secondly, we did some activities with the ‘kindi’ kids and they had a lot of fun!
