School Production 2025 – Melbourne, The Place to Be

A Senior class have to figure out clues as to what destination they need to go to next on their excursion using a weird thing called a ‘map’

This year’s school production was truly a stand out event.

Fittingly titled “Melbourne, The Place to Be”, the show transformed the Parade College Theatre into the beating heart of Melbourne on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th September. And for those two nights, it really was the place to be!

The number 6 tram with the most knowledgeable tram driver in the world

Guided by a trusty (and magically talented) driver of the number 6 tram, Senior students took us on a whirlwind tour of Melbourne’s most iconic destinations.

With map in hand, the tram transported us anywhere they needed to go – from the animals at the Zoo, to spotting Darcy Moore at the MCG, and even a surprise visit from Barbie!

The grand finale brought the whole school together in song, filling the theatre with energy and reminding us all that Melbourne is, indeed, a Funky Town.

A thunderous round of applause goes to our amazing Performing Arts teacher, Mrs K.

Not only did she write, choreograph, and direct the entire show, but she also organised the outfits and even built a life-sized cardboard tram!

Thank you, Mrs K – you are a superstar, and this production was a shining example of your creativity and dedication.

🥇A Winning Day for All at Sports Day

On Friday 12th September, the whole school marched into the Coburg Harriers Athletics Track for our annual Sports Day.

The excitement had been building all week and, after perfecting their house chants the day before, every colour was ready to bring their best and chase the glory of being crowned 2025 champions.

From the very first race, the spirit was electric. Students gave their all on the track and in the field, pushing themselves not just for personal pride but to lift their house colour higher.

The cheering never stopped and when it came time for the relays, the atmosphere hit another level.

Not even a quick rain shower could dampen the mood. After a short pause, we were back into the action, running, jumping, and throwing until the very end.

Even the Parents vs Students vs Leaders relay showdown delivered all the drama – a nail-biting finish, big laughs, and even a TORN hammy (don’t worry, Miss Anne is on the mend!).

A huge shout-out must go to our fantastic school leaders – Lia, Livi, Noah, Frankie, Cristian, Lachlan, Vikki and Ellie – who were absolute stars, keeping spirits high and helping the day run smoothly.

Back at school, the anticipation was sky high. The drumroll began… hearts pounded… and then came the big reveal from Livi and Lia:

🎉 YELLOW HOUSE – 2025 Champions! 🎉

Congratulations to Yellow House on a well deserved victory, and to every student for making Sports Day such a fun, spirited and unforgettable event.

💡Cooking Up Creativity In STEM With Food Specialisation Going 3D

The Middles and Seniors applied their understanding of Food Specialisations through design and development of healthy breakfast cereal, including the 3D packaging, with sensational results – the addition of cinnamon to the ingredients list was very popular!

Fire Carriers Unite

Our Fire Carrier Leaders Vikki, Lily, Zack and Roy

Our Fire Carriers (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education) presented our school with its very own Flame.

Fire is important for First Nations Peoples. It is around the fire that stories are told and laws taught.

Fire represents the spiritual connection for the individual to Mother Earth and the Ancestors. And so it is fire that will represent the learning and teaching for a school journey towards Reconciliation.
