Year 5/6 Camp: Anglesea Adventure!
Last week, our Year 5 and 6 students headed to Anglesea for three days of adventure, challenge, and plenty of unforgettable memories.
It was actioned packed the moment they arrived.
Students took on a beach carnival packed with team challenges, paddled their way through canoeing sessions on the water, and put their problem-solving skills to the test with raft building.
On land, mountain biking tracks got hearts pumping, and indoor boulder climbing pushed students to dig deep and back themselves to reach the top.
What made the camp so special was watching students step outside their comfort zones and discover what they are capable of. Friendships were strengthened, new ones were formed, and the team spirit on display was something to be proud of.
A huge thank you to the legendary Ms Em, staff and YMACA instructors who gave their time and energy to make this camp possible.
In case you were wondering, PINK TEAM won the beach carnival with a strong performance in relays and a one of a kind chant.
What a team!

Italian Visit
On Thursday 7 May, our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students were invited to perform in the school hall for members of the Italian community.
The children proudly presented an Italian song dedicated to all mothers, grandmothers and special people in celebration of Mother’s Day.
Following the performance, the students presented the grandmothers with a special poem that they had decorated and practised reading during Italian lessons. As the photos show, the smiles on everyone’s faces said it all, with many guests also joining the children for a dance.
We hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day Breakfast

On Friday 1 May, we welcomed mums, grandmothers, and carers into the school hall for our Mother’s Day breakfast, organised by the Holy Spirit Parents Association.
It was a wonderful morning with the spotlight firmly on the special women in our students’ lives.
Thank you to the HSPA for putting it together.

Fruit For Everyone!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Psarakos family (Scarlett & Aston’s family). Every Thursday fortnight, in the morning, they will be supplying a lovely piece of healthy fruit to our students as they enter the school gates!
What a way to start the day. Enjoy Everyone!

Announcing the WOW
We are pleased to announce that we are taking part in the WOW (Walk or Wheel Once a Week) program, in partnership with the City of Darebin.
What is WOW?
WOW encourages students to walk, ride, scoot or skate to school every Thursday, starting Thursday 21 May through to the end of Term 2.
Each class will track their progress on a WOW wall calendar, competing for the prestigious Golden Boot Award, plus a pizza party for the winning class!
Why WOW?
We’re supporting WOW to help build healthy habits and ease traffic congestion around the school. Choosing active travel is a simple way for students to improve their wellbeing and help create a safer school environment.
A quick road safety reminder:
• ‘Stop, Look, Listen, and Think’ before crossing the road.
• Don’t cross between parked cars.
• Slow down near driveways.
We’d love to see as many students as possible give it a go, even once a week makes a difference.
