Stronger Together: A Celebration of Our School Community
Recently we celebrated ‘Holy Spirit Day.’
I’d like to thank all the parents and carers for helping to dress your children in the colours of the Holy Spirit.
I also saw some ‘Fruits of the Holy Spirit’ buzzing around in the mix as well. Bananas were very popular and greatly appreciated for their creativity.
It is the one day of the year where we stop, have some fun, be creative and reflect on the significance of our school’s name and feast day, which is Pentecost.

We began our day with our whole school mass. Classes then participated in creative activities based on the Holy Spirit within their levels. It was a fun filled and enjoyable day.

District Winter Gala Day Wrap Up – A Big Win for Holy Spirit!

Last Friday, the Senior Students of Holy Spirit Primary School proudly represented our school at the District Winter Gala.
We competed across three sports, netball, soccer, and AFL.
Holy Spirit entered two netball teams, two soccer teams, and one footy team. The footy team played some gruelling games at Hayes Park while the netball and soccer matches were held at Narrandjeri Stadium and Northern Oval Fields.
All teams played with enthusiasm and gave it their all.

“I enjoyed the soccer tournament because players listened to each other and gave good feedback. We kept improving during the games and throughout the tournament.” – Dean P
“I loved how my team worked together in netball and how we gave encouragement to boost our teams confidence” – Trish
“I loved playing in the mixed footy team. I saw everyone improve and we never dropped our heads when we were losing. I had a magnificent time.” – Jack R
“The interschool sport gala was one of the best days! The girls’ soccer team grew and adapted very well over the games.” – Frankie W
A special congratulations to our netball team who made it to the finals, and a huge round of applause to our girls’ soccer team who won their tournament and will now progress to Division.
Well done to all players — you represented Holy Spirit with pride!

🏅Special Mention:
Congratulations to Livi and Chelsea!
Both girls represented Holy Spirit Primary School at the Division Cross Country. Chelsea finished 7th for the 9/10 girls and Livi placed 2nd for the 12/13 girls. Both girls will go onto the Regional District.

Congratulations to all of our Grade Six students who received the sacrament of confirmation on Saturday 14th June:

What a beautiful ceremony it was!
Bishop Rene Ramirez presided over the celebration and was assisted by Fr Shabin and Fr Peter. The children were well prepared and presented themselves beautifully.
We are sure it will be a special experience they will always remember. A huge thank you to the parents and carers for their efforts in helping to make this day such a huge success.
Upcoming Events and Latest Developments in the Community
Gavin Negrin (uncle of Raphael Tsolakis), owner/operator of Nugget Haulage Pty Ltd., generously donated his time and services to complete site preparation for our new playground.
This involved dismantling the existing equipment, removing the existing rubber surface and excavating the land ready for the new playground to be installed.
We are all very grateful to have had Gavin on board.

THE FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART MASS: Friday 27th June @ 11.30 am
Holy Spirit is Seeking Donations
Every year, for the Feast of the Sacred Heart, each class collects goods which we then donate to St Vincent De Paul to help adults in our community who may be in need. We are asking if all families could add one or two items to their shopping list over the next few weeks and donate these for our whole school mass.
Items we would like donated are listed below:
- shampoo
- conditioner
- toilet paper
- tooth paste
- tooth brushes (adult not children)
- body wash,
- deodorant
- soap
There will be a collection box in each class for students to place their donated goods. Each class will take their box of donations over to the church as part of our Sacred Heart Mass.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Second Hand Uniform
There are lots of items of second-hand uniform available at the moment. If you need anything now or in the future, please see Kerry or Shirley in the office. There is no cost for second-hand uniform items.
The second-hand uniform cupboard needs a good tidy. If there is a parent with an hour or so to spare who could tidy the cupboard, it would be greatly appreciated.
